IT WASN'T EASY
Pero alam mo, hindi ganito ang buhay ko dati...
I was surviving on a Php12,000 monthly salary, clueless about online freelancing —until Bro. Bo Sanchez mentioned it in an email.
Back then, I had two simple dreams: to earn more to be debt-free and to work from home for time freedom.
But my journey wasn’t easy. Wala kaming internet sa bahay, so work-from- another-home ang trabaho ko. My 10-12 hour day job barely paid the bills, but I knew I needed to invest in learning Facebook Ads.
Kahit risky, I borrowed money and enrolled in Sir Jomar Hilario’s course. Sinugal ko ang Php100,000 at 6 years kong HR experience para sa buhay na gusto ko.
Disclaimer: You don’t need Php100,000 to start your online freelancing.
In 2017, after countless applications, I landed my first client as a Facebook Ads Specialist. Nung nareceive ko ang unang sahod ko, nag-resign na ako.
February 13, 2017—my life changed. From then on, I worked full-time online. That risk? It was worth it. ✨
Sa mga nagtatanong kung kaya bang pagsabayin ang freelancing at day job, ang sagot ay YES.
Pero…
It takes a lot of sacrifices. Sobrang mapupuyat ka talaga.
Ako, full-time HR Specialist noon. 8 AM to 6 PM ang trabaho ko, then freelancing work started around 9 PM—madalas umaabot ako ng 1 AM or 2 AM.
Gigising ako ng maaga para mag-prepare ulit sa corporate job. Lagi akong pagod, lagi akong puyat.
Pero lahat ng efforts ko, nagbunga.
After 30 days na mag-resign, nakuha ko ang second client ko—isang eCommerce store owner sa USA.
Sobrang big time nila. We spent millions of US dollars monthly on ads. Syempre, nalula ako noon!
Pero lahat ng hirap, worth it. ✨
Dahil doon, ang dami kong natutunan—as in! Iba talaga kapag na-experience mo firsthand.
Doon ko naranasan mag-launch ng 500 ad sets sa isang araw, mag-track ng metrics sa Ads Manager, at gumawa ng data reports para malaman kung profitable pa ang online stores.
Nabigyan din ako ng access sa Shopify, at doon ko nakita kung gaano kalaki ang actual sales ng stores ni client.
Sobrang na-curious ako sa e-Commerce simula noon, lalo na sa potential nito.
Then, I discovered na meron palang Facebook group na mga Pinoy na nag-eCommerce.
Nag-join ako kasi gusto ko talagang aralin and e-Commerce.
Nag-attend pa ako ng 2-day e-Commerce workshop.
Napansin ko na sobrang dami nilang natackle na topics, pero kung wala kang masyadong alam, lalo na sa Facebook ads, medyo mahihirapan kang makasabay.
A few weeks later, habang naglilinis ako ng files sa laptop...
I discovered something
Nakita ko yung isang video tutorial na ginawa ko para sa pospect client way back 2017. Part ito ng requirement nila noon.
Naisip ko, bakit hindi ko i-share ito sa e-Commerce Facebook group? Malay mo, makatulong din sa members.
So, without any hesitation, in-upload ko yung video sa group.
Dahil doon, ang daming members and nag-send ng friend requests at nagtanong about Facebook ads-paano mag set-up, metrics, scaling, at kung anu-ano pa.
Honestly, nagulat ako sa dami ng tanong.
Sa totoo lang, wala akong balak magturo.
I just wanted to share what I know to help others. That’s it.
Teaching was never in my plans. Feeling ko kasi impatient ako at strict, kaya di ko nakitang magiging teacher ako someday.
Pero dumating sa point na sobrang dami nang nagtatanong-taking so much of my time. Doon ko narealize na ang daming matutulungan kung magtuturo ako.
July 2018, binuksan ko ang first batch ng students na tuturuan ko ng Facebook ads.
And that’s how my journey as a mentor began.
Something unexpected happened that tested my strength, patience, and faith.
Some people bashed me and my program.
I received negative feedback about my course, and people started saying bad things about me.
It was devastating.
I reached a point where I wanted to give up teaching because the attacks became too much to handle.
But I paused and reflected.
Instead of dwelling on the pain, I started looking at the challenges differently.
I reverse-engineered my setbacks and used their negative feedback to improve myself and my course.
Hinugot ko yung inspirasyon sa mga taong naniwala at nagtitiwala sa kabila ng lahat ng di magandang nangyari.
And because of them, I kept going.
Nagkamali ako. Nadapa. At bumangon ulit.
Hindi ako sinubok ni Lord... God prepared me, so I can do all this.
God prepared me and improved me as a person, as a coach, and as a mentor to help more people than I can handle.
If my program is still set up the way it was years ago, I don't think I can reach thousands of people like where I am today.
This will not be possible if I'm still my old self.
The hate, negative comment, and feedback from people fuel me to do better, improve, and turn those negative into positives.
It was not easy.
I was at a point that it's much easier for me to give up and just abandon my online course altogether than to endure the pain that it brought me.
Not to mention that I am already working on flexible hours. To be honest, I am already earning more than enough to have a comfortable life - may it be form the coziness of my home or from anywhere I wanted to be.
But I know that I CAN STILL DO MORE.
And in that moment, I realized-it’s no longer about the money.
I’m way past that phase.
Teaching Filipinos how to become Facebook Media Buyers has become a mission.
It’s my way of paying it forward-to help those struggling financially, share knowledge, and give them hope that they, too, can succeed as Facebook Media Buyers.
