MY JOURNEY

It wasn't easy

But you know what, my life wasn't this way before...

Before, I needed to survive with my twelve-thousand peso (Php12,000) gross monthly salary.


Just like most people, I used to be toatally clueless about Online Freelancing not until Bro. Bo Sanchez mentioned it during one of his emails.


And it instantly captured my attention...


Back then, I only had two simple desires.


One is to generate higher income to be debt-free.


Two, to shift into a home-based career so I can experience time freedom.


Like most of the success stories, mine was never easy.


First, I live in an area that is NOT "internet-ready".


Since wala kaming internet sa bahay, hindi workfromhome ang tawag sa job ko, kundi "work from another home."


Second, my day job ties me to my office desk for 10-12 hours every day.


Third, my pay was just merely enough for all my expenses yet I know I needed to join a paid online course to START-OFF my knowledge about Facebook Advertising.


I was REALLY DETERMINED to IMPROVE my current circumstances, so I borrowed money to do what I need to do. (This is too risky)

In 2017, after countless applications, I finally got my first client and became their Facebook Ads Specialist for e-Commerce store.


Nung nareceive ko yung first pay ko, pinasa ko na yung aking resignation letter na matagal ng nakadraft.

Tandang tanda ko pa yung date non, February 13, 2017.


Na-experience ko na yung first-hand yung sinasabi nila na pwede kang kumita online.


Kaya a month after I turned over the role to the new employee, I focused on working full-time as Facebook Ads Specialist.

Sa mga nagtatanong if kaya bang pagsabayin ang freelancing and your day job, the answer is YES.


Pero...


It takes a lot of sacrifices and sobrang mapupuyat ka talaga


Ako, full time HR Specialist that time. So ang trabaho ko ay 8am-6pm


And then I started working online mga 9pm onwards. Minsan, inaabot ng 1am or 2am


And then gigising ako ng maaga para magprepare sa corporate job ko


Lagi akong pagod. Lagi akong puyat


But at the end of the day...


Nagbunga naman lahat ng efforts ko


After 30 days since I resigned, I got my second client.


He's an e-Commerce store owner located in United States of America.


Etong second client ko, sobrang big time nila, like we spend million of US dollars in a month para sa ads.

Back then siyempre, nalula ako.

Pero dahil doon, dito ako maraming natutunan, as in. Ibang klase kasi kapag natutunan mo siya by first-hand experience.


Dun ko naranasan na maglaunch ng 500 ad set sa isang araw.


Kasama na din sa tasks ko yung data reporting.


Natutunan ko yung metrics at results na makikita sa Ads Manager para matrack namin kung profitable pa ba yung online stores.


As part of my role, nabigyan ako ng access sa Shopify.


Kung nalula ako sa ad budget per month, mas nalula ako sa actual sales generated ng stores ni client.


Dun ako nagstart macurious sa e-Commerce.

And then, I discovered meron palang Facebook group ng mga Pinoy na nag-eCommerce.


Nagjoin ako dun kasi gusto ko talagang aralin yung e-Commerce.


Nag-attend ako ng e-Commerce Workshop for 2 days..


Napansin ko sa seminar na natackle lahat ng topics kaya lang...


Kung ikaw pumunta ka dun na walang masyadong alam o hindi ka familiar sa Facebook ads, medyo mangangapa ka talaga.


After a few weeks, habang naglilinis ako ng files ng laptop ko...


I discovered something.


Nakita ko na merong akong isang video tutorial na ginawa ko sa isang prospect client way back 2017.


It's part of the requirement of this prospect client way back 2017.


Then, I got an idea to share this video inside the e-Commerce facebook group, since it might be helpful to the members.

So, without any hesitation, inupload ko yung tutorial video sa group.


And because of that, a lot of its members sent friend requests and asked questions about Facebook ads. They're asking how to set up ads, metrics, scaling and all.


As days passed by, I was totally surprised to received these questions from different people.


Sa totoo lang, wala talaga akong kabalak-balak na magturo.


All I wanted was to share what I know with people who might need that.


That's all.


It's not in my wildest dream to teach people about Facebook ads.


Kasi I'm kinda impatient and strict, so I really didn't see myself teaching.


It came to a point that I'm receiving tons of messages from different people asking questions about Facebook ads, taking so much of my time.


I realized ang daming magbebenifit kung magtuturo ako.


Juy 2018, inopen ko yung first batch ng students na tuturuan ko ng Facebook ads.

That starts my journey as a mentor.

Something unexpected happened which tested my strength, patience and faith as a person.


Some people bashed me and my program.


I got negative feedback from people about my course and people started saying bad things about me.


I really got devastated.


I'm on the verge of giving up teaching since people started to attack me that I can no longer take it.


I paused and reflected.


And as I started analyzing my challenges, I look at them through a different lens.


Or reverse-engineered my setbacks.


I used their negative feedback to improve myself and course.


Hinugot ko yung inspirayon sa mga taong naniwala, naniniwala at nagtitiwala sa kabila ng mga di magandang pinagdaanan ko.

Nagkamali ako. Nadapa. At bumangon ulit.


Hindi ako sinubok ni Lord...


God prepared me, so I can do all this.


God prepared me and improved me as a person, as a coach, and as a mentor to help more people than I can handle.


If my program is still set up the way it was years ago, I don't think I can reach thousands of people like where I am today.


This will not be possible if I'm still my old self.


The hate, negative comment, and feedback from people fuel me to do better, improve, and turn those negative into postives.


It was not easy.


I was at a point that it's much easier for me to give up and just abandon my online course altogether than to endure the pain that it brought me.


Not to mention that I am already working on flexible hours.


To be honest, I am already earning more than enough to have a comfortable life - may it be form the coziness of my home or from anywhere I wanted to be.


But I know that I CAN STILL DO MORE.

And in that situation, I realized, it's not about the money anymore.


I'm way past that phase.
